Lingshan county is located on the bay of beautiful and abundant Qinzhou in the south of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, center of the ¡°Golden triangle¡± sector of Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang, and back-land of Beibu Gulf. The county is about 100km away from Nanning City, Qinzhou City, Beihai City, Fangchenggang city, Yulin city and Guigang city, creating a ¡°one hour and a half¡± economic circle benefiting from geo-advantage of ¡°back on the southwestern part of China and face Southeast Asia¡±. It is reputed as ¡°The home of Chinese litchi¡± and ¡°the home of milk buffalo¡±.
Lingshan county is dated back to the Shu dynasty 598AD, when it was called Nanbin county. In Tang dynasty 794AD, its name was changed into Lingshan county given the name from western Lingshan Mountain within its territory, it has more than 1,400 years of history until now. The county has 18 towns, 389 village committees and 20 communities under administration, which has a total area of 3,550 square kilometers and a total population of 1,,565,000 (ranking third in population of Guangxi). Lingshan is full of resources and treasures with beautiful landscape and numerous scenic spots and historic sites, it makes itself ¡°excellent tourism county in Guangxi¡±. The renowned scenic spots are Millennium Ancient Litchi, and Liufeng Mountain scenic spot, which is a national AAA Level scenic spot and Dalu folk custom and habit ancient village which is reputed for its Ming and Qing dynasties building communities and is honored as ¡°Famous historical and cultural village¡± and ¡°No.1 Couplet village in Guangxi¡±, as well as Dongshan Luoyang Shan Agricultural eco-tourism demonstration pilot and superlunary tea park of Guangxi Beibu Gulf and so on. The whole county boasts abundance and wide variety of natural resources, and has rich deposits of more than 30 kinds of mineral resource such as granite, limestone, marble, gypsum, uranium, zinc, iron, and manganese. It is wide recognized for fruits, tea and preserved vegetables, ranks fifth of China and first of Guangxi in the fruit planting area and fruit yield. Its preserved vegetables output ranks No. 1 in Guangxi, and its tea planting area ranks No. 4 and output ranks No. 1 in Guangxi. The litchi of Lingshan enjoys great prestige in domestic and international markets due to the varieties and excellent quality. The breeding stock and milk yield of the milk buffalo in the entire county always ranks first among all counties in Guangxi.
